Allstream Centre Wins 2nd Place in 2011 “Canada’s Best Restroom” Contest
2011-11-22
For Immediate Release… Toronto, ON, November 22, 2011 - Canada’s first conference centre built to LEED Silver Standards is taking claim to yet another top title today: Runner-up in the 2011 Canada’s Best Restroom Contest, presented by Mississauga-based Cintas Canada, a leading provider of restroom hygiene products and services.

The 2011 contest attracted nominations from a wide range of businesses, including restaurants, hotels, convention centers and even a car dealership. Five finalists were selected based on exceptional hygiene, style, public accessibility and usability.

Allstream Centre combines luxury with the highest environmental standards. The washroom’s individual waterclosets are equipped with low flow, automatic fixtures and utilize a rainwater-harvesting program that collects water from the rooftop to flush the toilets. All paper products are made from recycled fibres and the hand-towels are composted after use. The ladies washroom features a separate carpeted lounge and makeup area, complete with comfortable seating and individually illuminated mirror areas finished in walnut wood accents. The vanity areas showcase clean white custom Corian countertops with frosted and backlit mirrors and touch-free taps and soap dispensers.

"Allstream Centre is honoured to receive this award,” says Arlene Campbell, General Manager of Sales & Events for Allstream Centre, at Exhibition Place. “We understand the importance of a luxurious restroom in the overall guest experience at Allstream Centre. We are delighted to be recognized nationally for our contemporary and eco-friendly restroom design.”
