Heritage Spaces Add Extra Character to Your Event
Originally constructed in 1929, then completely rebuilt in 2009, Allstream Centre benefits from the grandeur of Art Deco architecture, discreetly fitted with today’s cutting-edge technology. The impressive limestone façade gives your guests a prestigious sense of arrival, while the beautiful entrance lobby features details reflecting the structure’s origins as the Automotive Building at Exhibition Place.
Take a Break in the Art Deco Lounge
Overlooking the lake on the second floor of Allstream Centre, the Art Deco Lounge provides a free and open gathering place. On the ceiling, there’s a decorative plaster relief in the design of wheels with wings, along with decorative rosettes commemorating the automobile industry.

Overhead tulip-shaped lighting pendants were meticulously recreated to match the original 1926 design. During construction, a photograph of the original lighting pendants was found and presented to the lighting restorers, who immediately embraced the concept to replicate the delicate design. The pendants now house energy-efficient lighting fixtures in a historically accurate design.
The lounge features comfortable seating – all GreenGuard certified – featuring wide benches, loveseats and upholstered chairs. It’s a bright, airy place to come for a break between sessions and casually network with delegates.
Honoured with a Heritage Award
As a point of pride, Allstream Centre was honoured at the 36th Annual Heritage Toronto Awards, earning the first Award of Merit in the William Greer Architectural Conservations and Craftsmanship Category.
